Frozen in Time'Frozen in Time' is an original fine art scratchboard drawing in black, white and full color. The scratchboard size is 6 in x 4 in. Bright colored leaves that have fallen from their tree, are now frozen in a dance on the water. This miniature was done with an exacto blade on black scratchboard. Very fine lines were drawn in layers, slowly building up the detail and highlights. To add color to this image, most of the black ink was removed from the areas that I wanted color. Then a brush was used to apply opaque watercolor like I would oil paints. Please note that the squiggly line effect is caused by digitizing the image for the internet. The lines on the actual drawing are smooth. And keep in mind that color shows up differently on individual monitors. The colors in this image are very rich.
