Leaves'Leaves' is an original fine art scratchboard drawing in black, white and full color. The scratchboard size is 11 in x 8 1/2 in. This drawing was first created in 2001 as a study of leaves in black in white. Recently, I decided to add color to some of the leaves and the background pine needles. Though the color does not show well on the pine needles, they are a pine green. This entire drawing was done with an exacto blade on black scratchboard. Very fine lines were drawn in layers, slowly building up the detail and highlights. Opaque watercolor was applied with a brush to add color. Please note that the squiggly line effect is caused by digitizing the image for the internet. The lines on the actual drawing are smooth. And the way individual monitors display color varies.The colors in the drawing are very rich. Purchase of this original artwork does not include the copyrights. The copyrights are retained by the artist, Denise M. DesLauriers. The copyright notice on the image is for protection purposes only. The text does not appear on the original drawing.
