Tulips and Ivy'Tulips and Ivy' is an original fine art scratchboard drawing in black, white and color. The board size is 6 in x 12 in. I had created a drawing of tulips and ivy in black and white a long time ago using there simple lines and really liked the effect. It has an almost abstract feel to it. So I decided to try doing a similar drawing in color. The entire drawing was done with an exacto blade on black scratchboard. Very fine lines were drawn to create the detail and highlights. To add the color, I use a small brush to apply opaque watercolor. Be sure to view the detail images below. Please note that the squiggly line effect is caused by digitizing the image for the internet. The lines on the actual drawing are smooth. And keep in mind that color shows up differently on individual monitors. The color is much richer in the original. Purchase of this original artwork does not include the copyrights. The copyrights are retained by the artist, Denise M. DesLauriers. The copyright notice on the image is for protection purposes only. The text does not appear on the original drawing.
