Horse Portrait - White Blaze

'Horse Portrait - White Blaze' is an original fine art scratchboard drawing in black and white. The scratchboard size is 4 in x 6 in. Horses were one of my favorite animals as a child, so many of my first drawings were of horses. I still enjoy drawing them, though now, with all the animals to choose from, there just isn't time to do all the drawings I would like. This entire miniature drawing was done with an exacto blade on black scratchboard. Very fine lines were drawn in layers, slowly building up the detail and highlights. Tiny dots were used to bring life to the eyes. Please note that the squiggly line effect is caused by digitizing the image for the internet. The lines on the actual drawing are smooth.
