Winter Woods

'Winter Woods' is an original fine art scratchboard painting in black, white and color. The scratchboard size is 4 in x 6 in. Quiet fills this cold winter night. One almost holds their breath, knowing that the slightest move will break the silence. The entire miniature was done with an exacto blade on black scratchboard. Black ink was removed from the areas I wanted white and blue. Tiny dots were used to create the sky. Then using a small brush I applied washes of blue opaque watercolor. Please note that the squiggly line effect is caused by digitizing the image for the internet. The lines on the actual painting are smooth.
